When the ignorant provoke you, keep your dignity. Allah commanded His Prophet ﷺ: “Take to pardon, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant.” (al-Aʿrāf 7:199). A man complained of relatives who mistreated him though he was good to them; the Prophet ﷺ said: “If you are as you say, it is as if you feed them hot ashes, and Allah will keep a supporter over them for you as long as you continue.” (Muslim).
العربية: قال الله لنبيّه ﷺ: ﴿خُذ العفو وأمُر بالعُرف وأعرِض عن الجاهلين﴾ [الأعراف:199].
Don't sink to the level of the rude — pardon, keep your manners, and walk away.
