When you hear the adhān, five acts earn great reward: (1) repeat after the muʾadhdhin (saying ‘Lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh’ at ‘Ḥayya ʿalā…’); (2) send ṣalāh upon the Prophet ﷺ after it; (3) ask Allah to grant him al-Wasīlah; (4) say the shahādah duʿā of contentment; (5) make your own duʿā, for it is answered.
العربية: قال النبي ﷺ: «إذا سمعتُم النداء فقولوا مثل ما يقول المؤذِّن»، ثم «صلُّوا عليَّ»، ثم «سلوا الله لي الوسيلة»، ومَن قال حين يسمع المؤذّن: «أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له وأنَّ محمدًا عبده ورسوله، رضيتُ بالله ربًّا وبمحمدٍ رسولًا وبالإسلام دينًا، غُفِر له ذنبه»، ثم يدعو بما شاء. (البخاري ومسلم وغيرهما).
