The Prophet ﷺ told a man in pain: “Put your hand where you feel pain, say ‘Bismillāh’ three times, then say seven times: ‘Aʿūdhu billāhi wa qudratihi min sharri mā ajidu wa uḥādhir.’” (Muslim). For the sick he would wipe with his right hand: “Allāhumma Rabba-n‑nās, adhhibi-l‑baʾs, ishfi anta-sh‑Shāfī, lā shifāʾa illā shifāʾuk, shifāʾan lā yughādiru saqamā.” (al-Bukhārī & Muslim).
When you or a loved one is ill, place the hand on the pain and recite these duʿās — while seeking treatment.
