The Prophet ﷺ would say: “Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika mina-l‑kufri wal‑faqr, wa aʿūdhu bika min ʿadhābi-l‑qabr; lā ilāha illā ant.” (an-Nasāʾī — ṣaḥīḥ). Poverty can drag a person toward disbelief, so he joined the two in seeking refuge.
العربية: عن أبي بكرة رضي الله عنه أنّ النبيّ ﷺ كان يقول: «اللهم إني أعوذ بك من الكفر والفقر، وأعوذ بك من عذاب القبر، لا إله إلا أنت». (النسائي).
