When you set out, ask Allah for righteousness and ease. The Prophet ﷺ would say: “Allāhumma innā nasʾaluka fī safarinā hādha-l‑birra wa-t‑taqwā, wa mina-l‑ʿamali mā tarḍā. Allāhumma hawwin ʿalaynā safaranā hādhā, waṭwi ʿannā buʿdah. Allāhumma anta-ṣ‑Ṣāḥibu fi-s‑safar, wal‑Khalīfatu fi-l‑ahl…” (Muslim). And the traveller's duʿā is answered.
العربية: عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما أنّ رسول الله ﷺ كان يقول في السفر: «اللهم إنا نسألك في سفرنا هذا البِرّ والتقوى، ومن العمل ما ترضى، اللهم هوّن علينا سفرنا هذا واطوِ عنا بُعده، اللهم أنت الصاحب في السفر والخليفة في الأهل…». (مسلم).
