ʿUthmān ibn Abi-l‑ʿĀṣ complained that Shayṭān came between him and his prayer. The Prophet ﷺ said: “That is a devil called Khinzab. When you sense him, seek refuge in Allah from him and spit dryly to your left three times.” He did, and Allah removed it. (Muslim).
العربية: عن عثمان بن أبي العاص رضي الله عنه قال: يا رسول الله، إنّ الشيطان قد حال بيني وبين صلاتي، فقال ﷺ: «ذاك شيطانٌ يقال له خِنزب، فإذا أحسسته فتعوّذ بالله منه واتفِل على يسارك ثلاثًا». ففعلتُ ذلك فأذهبه الله عنّي. (مسلم).
When whispers strike in prayer, say ‘Aʿūdhu billāh’ and give a light dry spit to your left three times.
