Take the means, then trust Allah. Leaving home the Prophet ﷺ would say: “Bismillāh, tawakkaltu ʿala-llāh, lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.” (Abū Dāwūd — ṣaḥīḥ). He said: “If you relied on Allah as He should be relied upon, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds: they go out hungry and return full.” (Tirmidhī — ṣaḥīḥ).

العربية: عن عمر رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: «لو أنكم تتوكّلون على الله حقّ توكّله لرزقكم كما يرزق الطير، تغدو خِماصًا وتروح بِطانًا». (الترمذي).

Work and take the means — then place your heart's trust wholly in Allah for the outcome.
