When two believers were about to part, they would recite Sūrat al‑ʿAṣr to each other. Two Companions would not separate until one recited “Wal‑ʿAṣr, inna-l‑insāna la‑fī khusr” to the other, then they gave salām. (al-Ṭabarānī — ṣaḥīḥ). Imam al‑Shāfiʿī said: “If people pondered this sūrah, it would suffice them.”
العربية: عن أبي مدينة الدارمي رضي الله عنه: «كان الرجلان من أصحاب النبيّ ﷺ إذا التقيا لم يفترقا حتى يقرأ أحدهما على الآخر: ﴿والعصر إنّ الإنسان لفي خُسر﴾، ثم يُسلّم أحدهما على الآخر». (الطبراني).
When parting from a brother, recite Sūrat al‑ʿAṣr and give salām — a beautiful reminder.
