If standing is hard, pray qiyām sitting rather than leaving it. ʿĀʾishah said the Prophet ﷺ, when he grew older, would pray much of the night sitting. (al-Bukhārī & Muslim). One who prays sitting without excuse has half the reward of one standing — far better than not praying at all. (al-Bukhārī).

Too tired to stand for the night prayer? Pray sitting — half the reward beats leaving it entirely.
