When facing a choice, let Allah choose for you. The Prophet ﷺ taught istikhārah as he taught a sūrah: pray two rakʿah (other than the obligatory), then say: “Allāhumma innī astakhīruka bi‑ʿilmika wa astaqdiruka bi‑qudratika wa asʾaluka min faḍlika-l‑ʿaẓīm…” naming your need. (al-Bukhārī).
العربية: عن جابر رضي الله عنهما قال: كان رسول الله ﷺ يُعلّمنا الاستخارة في الأمور كلها: «إذا همَّ أحدكم بالأمر فليركع ركعتين من غير الفريضة ثم ليقل: اللهم إني أستخيرك بعلمك وأستقدرك بقدرتك وأسألك من فضلك العظيم…». (البخاري).
