Anyone in a position of responsibility must keep his door open to people. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever Allah puts in charge of any affair of the Muslims, then shuts himself off from their need, want and poverty — Allah will shut Himself off from his need, want and poverty (on Judgement Day).” (Abū Dāwūd — ṣaḥīḥ).
العربية: عن أبي مريم الأزدي رضي الله عنه أنّ النبيّ ﷺ قال: «مَن ولّاه الله عز وجل شيئًا من أمر المسلمين فاحتجب دون حاجتهم وخَلّتهم وفقرهم، احتجب الله عنه دون حاجته وخَلّته وفقره». (أبو داود).
If you hold any position of responsibility, keep your door open to people's needs — do not shut them out.
