Ibn ʿAbbās said: “I like to adorn myself for my wife as I like her to adorn herself for me, for Allah says: ‘And they (women) have rights similar to those over them, in kindness.’ (al-Baqarah 2:228).” The Prophet ﷺ, on entering his home, would begin by freshening himself with the miswāk. (Muslim), and he loved a pleasant scent.
العربية: عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنهما قال: «إني لأحبّ أن أتزيّن للمرأة كما أحبّ أن تتزيّن لي، لأنّ الله يقول: ﴿ولهنّ مثل الذي عليهنّ بالمعروف﴾» [البقرة:228].
