When a man of good religion and character proposes for your daughter or ward, accept him. The Prophet ﷺ said: “When one whose religion and character please you proposes, marry (your daughter) to him; if you do not, there will be great corruption on earth.” (Tirmidhī — ḥasan). Do not reject him merely for poverty or lineage.
العربية: عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: «إذا خطب إليكم من ترضون دينه وخلقه فزوّجوه، إلا تفعلوا تكن فتنةٌ في الأرض وفسادٌ عريض». (الترمذي).
Guardians: weigh a suitor's religion and character first, not just wealth or status.
