Friday is the best day of the week. The Prophet ﷺ said the one who prepares well and comes early earns immense reward. Its sunnahs include:
- Ghusl (a full bath) before the prayer. "When one of you comes to Jumuʿah, let him take a bath." — al-Bukhārī
- Wear your best, clean clothes and apply perfume (ṭīb).
- Go early. Those who arrive first are recorded nearest to Allah's mercy.
- Reciting Sūrah al-Kahf during the day. "Whoever reads Sūrah al-Kahf on Friday, a light shines for him between the two Fridays." — al-Ḥākim / al-Bayhaqī
- Abundant ṣalawāt upon the Prophet ﷺ, for deeds are shown to him on this day.
- Listen quietly to the khuṭbah. Speaking while the imam gives the khuṭbah removes the reward of Jumuʿah.
- Du'ā in the last hour before Maghrib — a time when supplication is answered.
